Pie Are Squared is the brainchild of Egyptian multi-instrumentalist Mohammed Ashraf. It started off as a means to learn about audio recording and production and has gradually evolved into his main means of expression, the main melting pot of all his influences that range from drone to black metal, electronica ro progressive and alternative rock. He describes the project as “one of the loudest/quietest/happiest/darkest things you’ll ever hear” and on listening to the music, this description seems as apt as any. He also has two other music projects, Headcase and Feed Me!
